Sr Technical Support Staff I
The Electric Propulsion and Plasma Dynamics Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Princeton University invites applicants for a new senior technical support staff position. The laboratory is focused on plasma propulsion research and the position is for a technician/engineer to provide support of experimental facility and associated equipment and diagnostics. Ability to diagnose and repair circuits, design simple hardware and undertake light machining tasks in the lab’s machine shop. Familiarity with plasma diagnostics, pulsed power, and operation and maintenance of vacuum equipment is an advantage but not a strict requirement. Working knowledge of data acquisition systems (e.g. Labview) and computer programming is a plus. Tasks include supporting experiments, maintaining lab’s equipment and instruments, ordering material and equipment, and overseeing lab safety. A degree in technical studies (mechanical or electrical) or equivalent experience (minimum of 5 years) in a research lab is the minimum requirement. A BS in mechanical or electrical engineering is a plus.
