Emil Broemmelsiek is the Lab Manager of EPPDyL. He is a propulsion engineer specializing in electric space propulsion with technical interests in rarefied gas dynamics, plasma diagnostics, and propellant chemistry.

Emil is also a vacuum technician and machinist. He has designed instrumentation, diagnostics, and power electronics relevant to electric thrusters. During his M.S. at UIUC, he studied the decomposition mechanisms of hydroxylammonium nitrate-based green multimode monopropellant. Emil interned twice with the Spacecraft Engineering department at the US Naval Research Laboratory and worked at CU Aerospace before joining EPPDyL.
